Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal may be rivals, but their fondness for Donald Trump is a similarity they share. He has previously lauded Masvidal for his fastest knockout in UFC’s history. At the ‘Latinos For Trump’ event back in 2020, Trump was all praises for the UFC welterweight. Later on, he praised Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman when he spoke at Cobb Galleria at an event revolving around ‘black economic empowerment’.

Trump had some really great things to say about him. He said, “I watched the fight you had a couple of months ago. (You’re) an unbelievable talent- and (smart), too. It’s a combination. The muscles are important but you’ve got to have the other. He actually looks really good in a suit but he’s one of the few people who look better without a suit. There aren’t too many of us that can say that. Right, men?” (h/t MMA Junkie).

Usman had already fought Masvidal and Covington before Trump’s praises. However, post that event, he went on to T/KO Gilbert Burns. After this, he fought Masvidal and Covington for the second time. He has successfully defended his belt against some of the best fighters.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has just lost one bout in his professional MMA career, which took place back in 2013. Since then, he has remained undefeated. Further, he has also looked extremely dominant in his title defenses. Out of a total of five title defenses, the 38-year-old fighter has won three through T/KO.
