‘He’s Picked a Losing Horse’ – Dan Hooker Taunts Hasbulla as He Plans to Attend UFC 267

Only recently, all UFC fans got to know that the Russian star Hasbulla Magomedov will attend the Islam Makhachev versus Dan Hooker bout at UFC 267. He is rooting for Islam Makhachev. The 18-year-old is friends with Khabib Nurmagomedov and is fondly called ‘Mini Khabib’. Khabib occasionally posts pictures on Instagram with the famous TikTok star.

The young Russian is known in UFC for his call-out videos and his famous rivalry with Abdu Rozik. Hasbulla versus Rozik might happen in the future, as they have found a sponsor. Furthermore, Hasbulla’s close friendship with Khabib and his teammates solidifies his association with the UFC audience.

The news of Hasbulla attending the upcoming event spread like wildfire. All his fans seem excited to see him come and support Makhachev.

Dan Hooker replies to Hasbulla

As the news of Hasbulla attending and supporting Makhachev broke out, it reached Dan Hooker too. He was quick to give a reply to the young Russian internet sensation. During an interview, he said, “Abdu’s on my team. That’s that’s, I got..I got a horse on the race now. Now, now I’m training my boy. I’m training my boy, Abdu. No word of a lie.”

He also said, “Abdu’s on my team. Hasbulla can be on his [Islam Makhachev] team. He’s picked his horse. He’s, he’s picked a losing horse. Game on, baby.”

As Hasbulla is known for his videos of calling out fighters, it would be interesting to see if he replies to Dan Hooker. 

Hooker further discussed Makhachev’s skills and fight tactics. He made sure to point out that the Russian fighter’s strikes are mostly to set up his takedowns. ‘The Hangman’ has surely analyzed his opponent’s techniques closely and is training accordingly. He enters the fight as the underdog. Because many already consider Makhachev a fierce fighter, defeating him will help Hooker boost his star power in UFC.
