Meanwhile, ‘Triple C’ was the happiest person in the room as he played a prominent role in helping Figueiredo secure a win over his former teammate, Brandon Moreno. Post securing the flyweight strap, Cejudo and ‘Daico’ sat in an interview where the former ‘champ champ’ trolled the new champ.

In a conversation with The Schmo, Cejudo reflected on his apprentice’s victory.

“I think the UFC need the crowd. The people are gonna want it. What I just told, I told Deiveson- the fights just gonna be easier because now you have more faith in what I am telling you. You know what I mean; you are gonna hurt him. Like, the next time you fight him, I want you to stop him. Put him out cold.”

Later, The Schmo asked Cejudo about ‘Daico’s thoughts on the interview as English isn’t Figueiredo’s first language. However, ‘Triple C’ grabbed the opportunity to take a jibe at the already married Brazilian.

Henry Cejudo trained Deiveson Figueiredo to get back at Brandon Moreno

Moreno and Cejudo had a fallout several years ago when ‘The Messenger’ snubbed ‘The Assassin Baby’. It was during the 26th iteration of the popular show The Ultimate Fighter, where Henry Cejudo and Joseph Benavidez operated as coaches.

‘The Assassin Baby’ was in Cejudo’s camp, but he later jumped ship as Cejudo picked Alexandre Pantoja over him.

As a result, Moreno went to train with Joseph Benavidez instead. This retribution by Moreno didn’t sit well with Cejudo. Which led him to train ‘Deus da Guerra’ for his trilogy fight against Moreno, in which he came out victorious.

The Brazilian ‘God Of War’ entered the fight as a huge underdog, as everyone expected the Mexican champ to keep his title after an impressive performance in their previous bout. However, ‘Deus da Guerra‘ bested Moreno, to take the win home via a unanimous decision.
