“He’s the champ, he has the belt for a reason; he beat Max twice. I take no credit from anyone. You have to look at their accomplishments and what they’re good at and what they’ve done. He’s got something that people don’t have, that the world has yet to catch up on.”

“You look at someone; you look at their skills and you study and you say you know what I think with what I have planned, I can take this man out. That’s the game we’re in and entertain all these people with the fight.”

Leading up to the fight, both Volkanovski and Ortega have taken various shots at each other. However, Ortega still talked about how he respects the champion and looks to learn from him.

What to expect from the fight between Brian Ortega and Alexander Volkanovski?

Ortega is coming into the fight on the back of a dominating victory against Chan Sung Jung at UFC Fight Island 6. However, prior to that victory, Ortega had suffered the only loss of his MMA career. ‘T-City’ had faced Max Holloway at the UFC 231 event and lost via TKO. Therefore, this time around, the fighter would look to perform better and win the title.
