Javier Mendez captured the two UFC Hall of Famers engaging in a quirky back and forth as is the staple of their interactions. Additionally, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin Umar Nurmagomedov was also part of the interaction adding to the overall vibe. Chiefly, Nurmagomedov and Cormier met in Abu Dhabi last week as Umar was competing on the UFC Fight Night card.

As for Daniel Cormier, his retirement is far more definitive in the eyes of the MMA community. ‘DC’ last competed back in August 2020 at UFC 252, where he fell to Stipe Miocic in their highly anticipated rubber match. Despite ending his career with two consecutive losses, Cormier remains a tier-one Hall of Famer of the sport.

The former two-division champion has now transitioned to a life behind the commentary bench, and he’s thriving. ‘DC’ is one of the UFC’s key color commentators for the biggest pay-per-view events that take place.
