UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley is a unique character in his own right. The promising contender is entertaining in and outside the Octagon. He is a supreme fighter with gifted striking skills, but his outside the Octagon antics can be deceiving to that fact. Recently, he provided yet another moment like that.
O’Malley’s love for marijuana and getting high is not an unknown fact. In a recent episode of his YouTube show, he invited UFC lightweight Drakkar Klose. While discussing many things, mostly about edibles, O’Malley was struggling to open the cap of a bottle from which he was trying to hydrate himself. O’Malley was understandably high, too.

‘Suga’ never fails to come up with moments like these. He is a fan favorite due to his character, notwithstanding his impressive fighting skills. However, 2020 was a mixed year for the rising star.
The former Dana White’s Contender Series fighter started the year with two highlight-reel knockouts against Jose Quinonez and Eddie Wineland. His walk-off knockout against former WEC champion Wineland at UFC 250 became an internet sensation.

The UFC gave him the co-main event spot in the UFC 252 pay-per-view. But O’Malley missed out on the chance to shine his star even brighter. Marlon Vera put an end to his undefeated record as a professional. ‘Suga’ suffered a leg injury during the bout and was subsequently finished by ground strikes.

Sean O’Malley returns at UFC 260
But O’Malley is still mentally undefeated and is set for a return at UFC 260 against perennial bantamweight contender Thomas Almeida. ‘Suga’ will look to get back to the winning ways upon his Octagon return. A win over an established fighter like Almeida will propel him to the division’s elites.

He certainly has the skills to become a future champion in the UFC. His mastery of the art of striking is not something to be looked down on, despite his recent deficit. ‘Suga’ will be determined to prove the haters wrong once he returns.
