In MMA, there are many ways a fight could end: a decision, a submission, or the fan favorite – a knockout. But there is one more way that isn’t as frequent as the others, and whenever that happens, it serves as a reminder of the brutality of this sport. For those who haven’t guessed it yet, it’s an injury!

Yes, those horrific times when a fighter sustains an injury so vicious that it forces the referee to stop the fight, leaving the fans with chills and the fighters in pain. While there are many ways one could injure themselves in MMA, few are more gruesome than a leg break, and recently, fans got another glimpse of it.

Fighter suffers leg injury more horrific than Conor McGregor and Chris Weidman’s

Recently, a video featuring a leg injury has taken the internet by storm. In the video, two fighters, one in white and the other in blue trunks can be seen going toe-to-toe against each other. Soon, the fighter in white attempts a takedown, and the fighter in blue attempts to stop it. However, in this attempt, the defending fighter ends up sustaining a gut-wrenching injury that forces the referee to stop the fight. Despite winning, the aggressor can be seen visibly disturbed and regretful of his action.

For those wondering, the clip is from Latino MMA promotion Combate Global’s latest event. The said event took place on Saturday, September 2, in Miami, Florida. The fighter in the white trunks is Jaime Mora-Muñoz, aka ‘The Gentleman,’ and it was just the second fight in his career. As for the unfortunate fighter in blue, he is Dylan Reischman. It was Reischman’s debut in the world of professional MMA, and just by looking at the sheer intensity of the injury, it may be his final one as well.

This is not the first time something like this has been seen in MMA. In the past, some big names in the sport have sustained leg injuries that forced them out of action. This includes the likes of Anderson Silva at UFC 168 and Conor McGregor at UFC 264. It’s noteworthy that Silva sustained his injury against Chris Weidman, who himself would go on to sustain a similar injury later in his career. Nevertheless, whoever is on the receiving end, it’s hard not to feel sorry for the person going through such pain, something that the MMA community agrees with.

Fans react to the disturbing video clip

As with most things in MMA, this clip soon went viral on the internet, and as expected, fans didn’t hold anything back while expressing their opinion on the matter.

This user, quite bizarrely, thinks that the fighter is okay. Does that mean he has recovered, or is the injury not a big deal?

Obliviously, some users were shocked.

There was a good dose of pessimism as well from these users.
