Ferguson is doing his best to lure Nurmagomedov to compete against himself. The former interim lightweight champion proposed an idea to square off against the Dagestan-born fighter as The Ultimate Fighter coaches.

While Nurmagomedov suggested it was a great pitch from Ferguson, he also added Ferguson is not ‘smart’ enough to do business with him. Ferguson didn’t like the comments.

‘The Eagle’ respected his mother’s decision to not continue fighting inside the Octagon after the undefeated fighter’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s demise. Thus, Ferguson aimed at perhaps the weakest spot of Nurmagomedov.

It’s not often that two fighters in the same division reach double-digit win streaks. Thus, the hype behind this contest was warranted.
