After holding title belts in featherweight and lightweight simultaneously, Conor McGregor created history by becoming the first double champion in UFC. However, while McGregor is a champion in the octagon, he also stands as one of the most controversial personalities in MMA because of his gangster persona and trash talks towards his fellow fighters.

Conor McGregor has roasted many UFC fighters and one of them was former UFC fighter, Chad Mendes.

At Go big conference in Las Vegas preliminary to his title fight against Jose Aldo at UFC 194. McGregor roasted most of his colleagues, including Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, Donald Cerrone, Rafael dos Anjos, Matt Brown, and Kelvin Gastelum.

Chad Mendes was sitting behind McGregor at the presser when ‘Notorious’ decide to take shots at him. Mendes had earlier lost the interim title fight to the Irish champ at UFC 189.

McGregor said, “You were curled like a b*#*h, I butchered your body. You couldn’t even lift your hands up, the knockout speaks for itself and you hit the deck like a B*tch. You called yourself the Mike Tyson of the featherweight division and I marched forward stood in the pocket and said what you have got, You hit like a f*#king strawweight.”

Ultimately,’ The Notorious’ dignified his attitude by successfully knocking out Jose Aldo at UFC 194 in 13 seconds. Eventually becoming the featherweight champion.

However, for a long time, McGregor has made no headlines for his in-ring achievements, as he has suffered major injuries and losses.

Where is Conor McGregor now?

While McGregor is still undoubtedly the most popular UFC fighter in the world, he has not been performing well inside the Octagon.

The champ lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov in the fourth round by submission via neck crank at UFC 229 which, eventually turned into the biggest ever UFC event with  2.4 million PPV buys.

McGregor recently suffered major back-to-back losses against Dustin Poirier. At UFC 264, he fractured his left tibia in the last seconds of the first round, and Dustin Poirier was declared the winner via TKO (doctor’s stoppage).

McGregor met with the injury earlier in the round when he checked Poirier with a low kick and later, when the Irish fighter landed on the same leg to deliver a punch, the leg twisted up.

After a complete recovery, McGregor has claimed to come back and compete at UFC lightweight. But officially no statements have dropped from UFC.
