Fans were surprised that Rousey didn’t use her elite judo skills nor try to turn the fight into a wrestling match. Rousey instead chose to box with a very dangerous kickboxer. The fight’s second round shocked the fans as Holm knocked out Rousey with a perfectly timed head kick.
With this huge win, Holm secured the women’s bantamweight championship. Unfortunately for her, she failed to defend her title in the very next fight and lost the belt to the likes of top contender Miesha Tate.
