Dana White’s Contender Series Season 5 Episode 7 saw some great fights. One fight that even impressed UFC President Dana White was Chris Duncan vs. Viacheslav Borshchev.

Chris Duncan came into the fight with a 7-0 record. He had also finished all of his previous fights, with six wins coming via knockout and one by submission. Borshchev, on the other hand, had a 4-1 record, having won his last two. He had three wins in his career via knockout. This was always going to be an exciting matchup, and it definitely lived up to the expectations.

Both fighters had a back-and-forth first round, each landing big strikes. Borshchev looked like the better fighter through the first round, but Duncan was also in the fight.

Come second round, within the first 30 seconds, after a lazy entry by Duncan, Slava caught his opponent with a counter left hook, which immediately put ‘The Problem’ to sleep. The knockout win earner Viacheslav a UFC contract.

Slava is a lightweight fighter. The lightweight division of the UFC is one of the most stacked in the promotion. If he can keep knocking people out like this, he soon will be fighting some big names in MMA.

Viacheslav Borshchev wasn’t the only fighter to earn a UFC contract on the night. White also gave Jake Hadley and Martin Buday contracts. One of the biggest names that Dana passed on was Christian Rodriguez. The reason given by Dana was Rodriguez missing weight.
