UFC Nashville has given a push to the rumors of Cory Sandhagen fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event. Previously, Islam Makhachev gave a wild suggestion and the rumors began to rise. Now, with the announcement of the fight, the fans can finally rest easy and wait for 5th August 2023.

After the UFC announced the big fight, the social media platforms boomed with the news. UFC shared the news on Instagram and garnered a boatload of attention. Without a doubt, the fans began pouring their thoughts into the comments section. While some fans connected the Nurmagomedov cousins and claimed that ‘The Eagle’ is back, many others commended Sandhagen for taking up a fight against the young Nurmagomedov. Undeniably, UFC Nashville has greatly enhanced the entropy of the fans.

Recently, the UFC took to Instagram and shared a post that announced the upcoming fights. The UFC’s return to Nashville has put Sandhagen against Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event, just like Makhachev previously suggested.

As soon as the post hit the internet, the fans took over the comments section. Some of the fans were quick to notice the similarities between Umar Nurmagomedov and his cousin. Many seemed to believe that Nurmagomedov would be the one to walk out of the cage as a victor. Additionally, some fans praised Sandhagen for taking up a tough fight. Undeniably, the excitement for the fight was quite high amongst the fans.

Umar Nurmagomedov’s seems eager to prove his mettle

Prior to the fight between Sandhagen and Merab Dvalishvili, ‘The Young Eagle’ took to Twitter and requested Dana White to give him a main card fight against Dvalishvili. He further mentioned the date and issued a challenge for Dvalishvili before wishing him a speedy recovery.

Nurmagomedov wrote, “ufc @danawhite offer me main event, May 13 I accept against Merab he have injury I wish him a speedy recovery, but I’m waiting to share the cage with him June or July.”
