Conor McGregor once again took the opportunity to mock the Nurmagomedov family. The Irishman’s erratic behavior has been on full display, with recent reports alleging his involvement in a pub fight in Liverpool. Turning his attention back to the UFC, ‘The Notorious’ couldn’t resist bashing Umar Nurmagomedov, cousin of his arch-rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, on Twitter following the withdrawal from his scheduled fight. UFC had given the Dagestani a leg-up by pitting him against former UFC bantamweight title challenger Cory Sandhagen at UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs. Nurmagomedov on August 5th in Nashville.

The highly-anticipated matchup between the #4 bantamweight and Umar hit a snag for undisclosed reasons, leaving the UFC in hot waters to find a suitable replacement for the headlining bout. This was supposed to be Nurmagomedov’s first time headlining an event. However, ‘Sandman’ now hangs with no opponent till further announcement.

Many saw this highly-anticipated matchup to be a title eliminator, and fans were disappointed to see it fall through. And following McGregor’s jab at the young Dagestani, the fans reacted with mixed feelings, pointing out the Irishman’s continuous criticism of Khabib’s clan owing to their rivalry.
