Trash-talking in the UFC is one of the prime aspects leading up to the fight. Some fighters use it to garner attention from fans, while some use it as a weapon to play mind games with their opponent ahead of the fight. Meanwhile, the welterweight contender Colby Covington claimed he uses it for both reasons.
Recently, ‘Chaos’ appeared in an interview with Joe Morgan of the Daily Wire. The American welterweight talked about his opponents and the UFC in this interview. Morgan told Covington about having a similar ability of trash-talking just like the UFC star Conor McGregor. Both the fighters are known for their savage trash-talks in the promotion.
While explaining his use of trash-talking, Covington said, “I think it’s a combination of both for me when I sell fights and that’s what’s it all about selling fights and getting the people engaged. Whether they hate you or love you, they are tune in to watch you. All the people that hate me they wanna see me fail and get knocked out.”

He added, “All the people that love me they wanna see get my hands raised and win. So at the end of the day, how can people be so fickle to say that? Oh, he said some mean words, this or that. Dude, we are getting locked in the cage in our underwear. We are taking each other’s brain cells. So how mean can you be.”
Covington is infamous for talking demeaning things about his fellow fighters in his interviews. Several people believe he is a loudmouth in the promotion, given he has bad blood with almost every fighter in the division. Regardless of this, ‘The Chaos’ has an impressive UFC career.
