Well, Gordon’s troubles were much like ‘The Hammer’. We may all agree that the battle against substance abuse turns out to be a rather lonely and tough one for any individual. Jared Gordon had the support of his wife Christina throughout his tough times

Although there are no reports talking about how long Gordon and Christina have been together. But it’s quite apparent that they were in a relationship before their marriage in 2021. ‘Flash’ hit the lows of his life with substance abuse around 2015. In an interview with ‘Muscle and Fitness’, Gordon revealed that he had been addicted to heroin, cocaine, and some other substances as well. But it all started with a painkiller addiction due to an injury he sustained.

Gordon fought Jeff Lentz on May 9, 2015, during his time in the ‘Cage Fury Fighting Championships’. He sustained a major injury in this fight, as he broke his orbital bone in five places. The pain that ‘Flash’ suffered post-this injury made him overdose on painkillers multiple times. But the third one that happened to him was the most dreaded. Gordon was legally dead for almost two minutes.

However, the subsequent years saw his addiction turn towards heroin and a few other substances as well. Reports also reveal that even Christina, who always had her back during this time, once got fed up and left him.

But she eventually returned and became one of Gordon’s major supporters during his battle with his addiction. ‘Flash’ has even expressed his gratitude for Christina through several Instagram posts.

When is Jared Gordon fighting next?

Well, now Gordon stands completely sober and free from the demons that he had inside. Most fans may already know that he will be stepping into the Octagon at UFC 295 against Mark Madsen. But Gordon’s current run hasn’t been pretty eventful. His last fight against Bobby Green ended in a no-contest, while the one preceding it resulted in a controversial loss against the renowned UFC star, Paddy Pimblett.
