2022 for UFC started with an almighty heavyweight match-up that shook the world. Heavyweight kingpin, Francis Ngannou found himself locking horns with a former MMA factory teammate, Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. The magnitude of this fight truly saw the promotion kicking off the year extravagantly. Moreover, the MMA promotion also offered an update about Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson joining the ranks as the official sponsor for UFC athletes.

Being a massive fan of the sport and UFC, a collaboration with the WWE legend was on the cards always. Johnson has made multiple appearances at UFC events and his love for the support only grew exponentially.

Finally, in 2022, a monumental collaboration was established that replaced Reebok. The Hollywood star took to Twitter to break the news to the fan, as Project finally became the official footwear partner for the promotion.

The WWE icon dubbed this partnership as a historic moment, which would bring his footwear brand (partly owned by Under Armour) into the limelight. ProjectRock has now completely taken over serving as the permanent replacement for the premier footwear, Reebok. From crowning the BMF at UFC 244, The Rock is now an official partner.

The UFC also shared a beautiful cinematic video to break the news with the world featuring key stars like Julianna Pena, ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas, Justin Gaethje, and many more. He even served as a narrator explaining the nitty-gritty details involving UFC fighters, who “walk the walk

With a special Instagram post, The Rock shared his thoughts about his company’s tie-up with promotion. He said, “UFC athletes are amongst the greatest, toughest, focused, most disciplined and hardest training athletes on the planet. Every walk to the iconic Octagon by a UFC fighter is fueled with passion, mana, and the deep desire to establish their dominance and LEGACY.”

He also reiterated his mantra for life, which compels him to be the hardest worker in the room, much like all the UFC fighters. This monumental collaboration truly gave the promotion the perfect start and, with each successful PPV, UFC has been on a red-hot streak.
