“How Good Is Jon Jones”- Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Teammate Showers Praises on UFC Champ After Ciryl Gane’s Impressive Performance at UFC Paris

Jon Jones is now a two-division champion in the UFC. At 23, the New York-born became the youngest UFC champion in history, defeating Mauricio Rua in 2011 to achieve this feat. He has only continued to build on his early success, and is today considered the consensus greatest fighter in the history of the MMA.
Of course, his legacy is complicated by his positive PED tests and troubles outside the Octagon. But none of that stopped him from moving up a weight class and becoming the heavyweight champion by defeating Ciryl Gane in March. And after the Frenchman’s victory over Sergey Spivak at UFC Paris last night, Belal Muhammad couldn’t help but admire ‘Bones’ fighting abilities.

Gane dominated his opponent at UFC Fight Night in his hometown of Paris last night. He was able to outstrike Spivak, who is primarily a grappler, and put in some good bodywork against the Moldovan. This performance, however, failed to impress the Palestinian welterweight, who praised Jones’ despite him not even being in the care.

Of course, this was a reference to the short work Jones made of Gane back in March. The former light heavyweight champion came out of a three-year hiatus and disposed of Gane inside the opening minutes of the very first round. After silencing his doubters on the divisional debut, Jones will look to further cement his legacy this November by taking on the divisional GOAT.

Jon Jones will defend his heavyweight title at UFC 295 against former champion Stipe Miocic. Jones has been preparing hard for the bout and was even seen training with BJJ maestro Ryan Gordon to counter Miocic’s excellent wrestling skills.
And in a sparse heavyweight division, Gane’s victory has brought him one step closer to a third title shot. While Jones easily defeated Gane in the first round, Gane’s excellent striking cannot be underestimated and he might be able to surprise ‘Bones’ in a rematch. Unlucky for Gane, Jones has hinted that he might retire with a win over Miocic. And yet, somehow, that will not be the most exciting fight that fans will miss if Jones retires in November.

The heavyweight fight that all MMA fans want to see is between Jones and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. But the Cameroonian has signed with the PFL after disagreements with the UFC. Meanwhile, Jones signed an eight-fight deal with the UFC, which means the 36-year-old would probably be finishing his career in the promotion. This has practically confirmed we may never see the two fight. This raises the anticipation for November as fans await Jones’ decision. All of which is assuming that Miocic does not get the win and take his heavyweight throne back once again.
