Conor McGregor is the biggest MMA star in the world. He is one of the most followed and well-known athletes and has helped UFC reach new heights. ‘The Notorious’ is a former two-division UFC champion and a must-see fighter.

The Irishman is one of the biggest draws in combat sports and not just MMA. People tune in to watch him fight and there is always an air of anticipation around his fights. His trash-talk and calculated style of fighting has made him such an popular star. McGregor fought twice this year, at UFC 257 and UFC 264. He took on Dustin Poirier in both events, but unfortunately for him, he lost both fights. Poirier knocked him out at UFC 257 and he suffered a gruesome leg injury in the trilogy fight, which rendered him unable to continue.

However, despite him losing, both were the biggest PPVs of 2021. UFC 264 sold $1.8 million PPVs, which is the second-highest in UFC history. The only event with more overall sales is UFC 229, which featured McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. That event sold more than $2.4 million PPVs.

This just shows the drawing power of the Irish fighter. There is no bigger name than him in the sport, and he keeps showing that time and again. MMA fans are eagerly waiting for his return, and his return fight might just break all UFC PPV sales records.
