No. 14 ranked UFC middleweight, Chris ‘The Action Man’ Curtis is set to take on Canadian middleweight, Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC 297. Curtis is a very close friend and training partner of the middleweight champion, Sean Strickland, and would be fighting on his undercard. As we wait for ‘The Action Man’ of the UFC to take center stage, let’s take a look at his record so far.

Chris Curtis is a veteran of the sport but joined the UFC quite late into his career. Despite being only 36 years of age, ‘The Action Man’ has 40 fights as a professional MMA fighter. His record stands at an impressive 30 wins and 10 losses, with 18 of those wins coming by finishes. However, the veteran also has 10 losses on his resume. So who has he lost to in his career?

The no. 14th ranked UFC middleweight didn’t have the best start to his professional MMA career. The first fight on his record was etched with a loss by Brandon Pinkston, all the way back in 2009 at RFL: Maximum Impact. His second loss, and also his only submission loss, came at the clutches of Tom Gallicchio on his 7th fight in May 2011 at Extreme Caged Combat. He suffered his third loss against Forest Petz in his 10th professional fight in June 2013.

Chris Curtis went on a three-fight win streak after his 3rds loss but suffered his fourth against Belal Muhammad on his 14th fight in September 2014. He fell yet again in his 5th loss against Nah-Shon Burrell on 1st April 2016. This loss would go on to spark a fire within the 36-year-old as he would go on an impressive 8-fight-win streak, which lasted till May 2019.

He suffered a three-fight losing streak after the impressive run, losing twice to Magomed Magomedkerimov, once in PFL 4, and the other at PFL Playoffs: Welterweight and Women’s Lightweight, on 12 October 2019, along with his loss to Ray Cooper III on the same night. His loss against Cooper III was also his only KO/TKO loss in his career.

This K.O. loss against Ray Cooper III would spark another impressive winning streak, which eventually landed him a contract with the UFC.

Unlike his first MMA fight, Chris Curtis started his UFC career with an impressive 3-fight win streak. However, the streak would eventually come to an end as Curtis suffered his first loss in the promotion against Jack Hermansson, back in July 2022 at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall.

The 36-year-old would go on to win his next fight with an impressive KO over Joaquin Buckley but would lose the next fight against Kelvin Gastelum in April 2023 at UFC 287: Pereira vs. Adesanya 2.
