UFC 278 saw the promotion return to Salt Lake City, Utah. A prelims welterweight contest between AJ Fletcher and Ange Loosa saw the grit of both fighters as they were involved in a closely contested bout. After three rounds, ‘The Last Ninja‘ won the bout and defeated ‘The Ghost‘ via unanimous decision.

The welterweight bout was the fourth bout of the event and like all the three fights on the prelims, this contest also delivered.

The 28-year-old Kill Cliff FC athlete, coming off a loss against Mounir Lazzez, pulled off the win. The Switzerland-born defeated the 25-year-old Gladiators Academy standout.

Though Loosa won the fight, it didn’t come easy. Both fighters were gasping for air towards the end of the third round. Also, he had a tough second round which many believed could’ve been scored a 10-8. Anyhow, the Swedish fighter got the job done.

Heavyweight star Derrick Lewis appreciated the work of the ref, who let the bout go on in the second round. Many officials would’ve stopped that bout looking into some past results.

Meanwhile, Many others applauded the heart of Loosa as the 170 lbs fighter survived the tough situations and dominated the majority of the contest.
