Merle wants Israel Adesanya to headline UFC 300

Strickland and Du Plessis promised a war and they delivered. Their fight was bloody and in the end, it was Du Plessis who had the last laugh. ‘Stillknocks’ now wants to lock horns against the former champion, Israel Adesanya. The debate of the real African champion is on the cards now but will the fight happen soon?

Alex Pereira‘s ex, Merle is excited about their matchup. On her Instagram page, Merle assessed Strickland and Du Plessis’s fight and gave the winning points to Du Plessis. At the end of her post, she emphasized that a match between Adesanya and Du Plessis should headline the UFC 300. “So, what’s next, guys? What wants Izzy ?  And I really want Izzy vs. Du Plessis for UFC 300. Izzy is a fu****g businessman. This guy is just focused on business, and he knows how to make business. So what is better than a fight? “ said Merle.

She further added “UFC 300 main event for the middleweight title, again between Du Plessis and Izzy. After all the story they had, like they were training in the past two years, Du Plessis was talking shit about Izzy. Then they met again in the octagon right last year, they had this shit talk. So now it’s time for a main event, UFC 300, Israel Adesanya against Dricus Du Plessis.”

Adesanya vs. Du Plessis was slated to happen at UFC 293 but fate seems to have other plans. Nonetheless, the occurrence of their matchup is close as ‘Izzy’ is trying to make a comeback. Interestingly, Merle snubbed Pereira’s UFC 300 desire to fight on the ultimate card. However, there’s a twist, Alex Pereira seems to be making plans for a comeback to the middleweight division.

Israel Adesanya has accepted Du Plessis’s challenge, however, ‘Izzy’s ambition has been clouded by the light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira. After Du Plessis’s victory ‘Poatan’ took to his Instagram handle to add a cryptic comment that was indirectly directed to the newly crowned middleweight champion.

Pereira wrote, “Maybe one last rodeo at the middleweight”.  The former middleweight champion seems to be setting his plan for his re-entry to the division after clinching the ‘205’ lbs gold against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295. Interestingly, Du Plessis has agreed to enter into the Octagon with Pereira.

Du Plessis took to his Instagram handle to add a story of Pereira’s comment with a caption that “@alexpoatanpereira I dare you would be an honour sharing the cage with you”.  Pereira and Adesanya are the potential contenders for the middleweight title but there is another name that’s making noises from the back and it’s the ‘wolf’ Khamzat Chimaev.
