Conor McGregor is undoubtedly one of the most coveted names in the world of MMA. The Irishman is a two-promotion, two-weight-division champion, a feat that probably no one else in the world of MMA has achieved. McGregor repeated his ‘Cage Warriors’ feat of becoming a champ-champ in the UFC as well. His sniper left hand is one of the most feared weapons inside the Octagon. ‘Mystic Mac’ is also known for his audacious words on the mic and on social media as well.

This brash attitude could’ve led McGregor on the way to doom very easily. His perennial coach, John Kavanagh, in his book, ‘Win Or Learn’, narrates how McGregor was going on to destroy his career by making all the wrong choices. Kavanagh also wrote about his conversation with the Irishman’s mom, Margaret McGregor, regarding this issue. He described how an uncanny bond had formed between him and ‘The Notorious’ due to an unplanned similarity.

My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC. Like many of you, I too, tuned in for the infamous Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor bout live on October 6, 2018. Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with.
