On 12th June 2021, the UFC flyweight fighter Brandon Moreno created history. He dethroned the Brazilian Deiveson Figueiredo to become the new UFC flyweight champion. However, ‘The Assassin Baby’ knew he could be a world champion even before he laid hands on the belt.

The Mexican flyweight has been with the UFC since 2016 and had a good start to his career. However, he faced a downfall after 2016. He competed in three UFC fights from 2017 to 2018 but won only once.

However, ‘The Assassin Baby’ was determined to achieve his dream of becoming the UFC champion. And after a draw in his first bout in 2019, Moreno displayed wonderful improvements and won three straight fights.

He earned his first-ever shot at the flyweight gold against ‘Deus da Guerra’ and took it on short notice. Unfortunately, after a five-round gruesome battle, the fight ended in a draw at UFC 256.

Later, UFC set up a rematch to settle the score. And Moreno was back again on the quest to achieve his championship dream. The stage was set at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

Just before the co-main event at UFC263, ‘The Assassin Baby’ was seen motivating himself inside the changing room. In a video uploaded by the UFC, we can see Moreno motivating himself before the fight.

Moreno said, “He can’t beat me. I am ready to die if necessary. He can’t beat me… You are number one. I am the best. Number one baby.”
