UFC middleweight Kevin Holland spoke to MMA Junkie and shared his desire to face Stockton’s favorite son, Nick Diaz. ‘The Trailblazer’ put up a post on Instagram that was a clear indication that he wanted to fight Diaz. In a conversation over text message, he revealed a desire to slap arguably the most notable open-handed striker in MMA.

Nick Diaz has several highlights from the early days of his career that saw him slap his opponents square across the face. Even greats like Anderson Silva couldn’t escape Nick Diaz’s taunts. In fact, his younger brother in Nate Diaz also carried forward this tradition and notably slapped Conor McGregor when they fought.

Holland detailed the exact timeline from when his desire to slap Nick Diaz originally arose. Moreover, he also briefly mentioned that the two men had a run-in at some point in the past. However, he declined to provide any further details on this run-in.

“I been waiting to slap the slap man since I was on (Dana White’s) Contender Series,” Holland said, in a text. “We had a little run in. I think it’s a fight the fans will want the commentators to just shut up and listen to the punches landing and our mouths flapping.”
