Stipe Miocic, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, wants to get back to fighting. The former two-time UFC heavyweight champion has not fought since his loss to Francis Ngannou. Both men went head-to-head at UFC 260, and ‘The Predator’ knocked Miocic out in the second round.

This was the second time the pair fought, with Miocic winning the first fight via a unanimous decision. In an interview, Miocic said that he hasn’t gone back and watched the footage of his last fight against Ngannou. However, he knows what he did wrong in the fight. He said, “I let him dictate the pace. I let him do what he wanted. I just didn’t do what I want, just kind of stayed back. Got hit a few times, took a terrible shot. There was a lot of things I did wrong. But listen, we all make mistakes. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

“He hit me with some good shots, but the left hook is the one I didn’t see. I hit him with that right and I came in guns blazing with my hands down and he hit me with the one I didn’t see. That was the end of it,” he added.

Stipe Miocic wants a trilogy fight

After his defeat at the hands of Ngannou, everyone expected the former champ to get a rematch. However, the UFC booked an interim title fight between Ciryl Gane and Derrick Lewis. When asked if he thought he should’ve been asked about it, he said, “I would have loved to have been asked. I feel like I understand what the UFC’s doing. It’s a business, but at the same time, I think that I deserved a trilogy fight.”

However, he isn’t sure if he would’ve taken the fight or not, but feels he at least should’ve been asked.

There were rumors of a fight between Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones. The UFC seemed interested in making it happen, but Miocic believes Jones wanted a title shot and was not interested in the fight. However, he would be down to fight him if he doesn’t get the trilogy fight. But the trilogy fight is still the priority for him.
