In just a few years at the UFC, Swedish grappler Khamzat Chimaev has amassed an unmatched following and fame for himself. The 27-year-old is currently #11 on the UFC charts and wants to go even further.

A retirement scare early in 2021 may have derailed the Khamzat Chimaev hype-train for a brief amount of time. However, the Swede got back on track and seemed even better than before, as he showcased a bewildering performance against Li Jingliang on his comeback.

Now, the ‘Lone Wolf’ wants to repeat the feat, and this time, he has chosen Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson as his prey.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Chimaev sent a chilling warning to ‘Wonderboy’ for attempting to call a fight against him.

“And who more? Belal and who, this guy, other guy, Karate guy? [Stephen] Thompson, yeah, he lost. He said, ‘maybe I am gonna fight with him in the future’. Brother, are you sure? Your skills, your level is like weak,” Chimaev said.

“If Belal hold you down, I can put you under the cage brother. I don’t know how these guys think they will win against me. Ten fights ten finishes and I didn’t lose one second in the fights. I beat everybody. These guys don’t know I am coming for them. Real money is here Dana White. They know that,” ‘Borz’ continued.

Stephen Thompson ponders on a fight between him and Khamzat Chimaev

Stephen Thompson recently came out of a loss against fellow welterweight Belal Muhammad. UFC set their fight up as the co-headliner of UFC Fight Night 199. And in the pre-fight interview, Thompson was asked about ‘Borz’.

While answering the question, ‘Wonderboy’ said that Chimaev was a ‘scary guy‘ and that they will certainly fight someday.

Although ‘Wonderboy’ isn’t the only fighter whom Chimaev had threatened in his YouTube video. As his motive was to go after the top 10 of the welterweight division. In the video, he called out Colby Covington and also Gilbert Burns and the latter immediately accepted the callout.
