In the video, when Adesanya was asked about the main event, his words were wise. The fighter made sure to give Glover Teixeira his due respect. As the Brazilian fighter retired after his UFC 283 match, many people showed their respect toward him. Similarly, ‘Izzy’ did not fall behind in respecting the UFC light-heavyweight legend. But on the same hand, he did not take a step back to praise the winner of the fight, Jamahal Hill. The middleweight fighter appreciated the new light-heavyweight champion for his technicalities. However, he connected with Hill’s moment upon winning the title.

When Adesanya became the champion

‘The Last Stylebender’ made his UFC debut in UFC 221. This was back in the year 2018. A year later, in UFC 236, the fighter won the interim middleweight title against Kelvin Gastelum. Post that, he defeated Robert Whittaker and became the undisputed champion.

He even decided to try his luck against Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight title. But things didn’t go his way, and he experienced his first-ever professional MMA loss. His second MMA loss was against Alex Pereira at UFC 281, wherein he lost his middleweight title.
