“I Could Almost Like Fu**ing Ball Up in Tears Sometimes”: Emotional Jorge Masvidal Opens Up on His 8-Year-Old Son’s Dedication to MMA

Former UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal is a loving father of three. He has also earned a great name in the UFC, and after retiring from the promotion, he chose the role of a fight promoter. The MMA community began to appreciate the ferocious fighting style of Masvidal after he went for a flying-knee knockout against Ben Askren. After a remarkable UFC career, Masvidal finally decided to retire from the sport after facing four consecutive losses. However, he promised to return if something interesting came his way.

His last bout in the UFC octagon was against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287, where Masvidal lost the three-round bout via decision. In a recent interview, the 38-year-old mentioned that he was thoughtful about making money after retirement as he has kids to look after. Masvidal has three kids with his ex-girlfriend Iman Kava, which includes two girls and a boy. Talking about his kids, Masvidal opened up about how he gets teary-eyed after seeing his eight-year-old son’s dedication to the sport.

Jorge Masvidal was talking on ‘The George Janko Show’. During the interview, Masvidal detailed how he does not want his kids to get into fighting because it makes their lives rough. He also believed that when they do something different from the rest, it makes them lonely. Instead, he wished that his kids would do business and have a cool life. However, his eight-year-old son is already following in his dad’s footsteps.

Masvidal’s son shows a great dedication to fighting, which makes him emotional.‘ Gamebred’ said, “I’ve had him training now for three weeks to stand up because he’s been asking me ‘I want to do kickboxing, I want to do boxing’. He’s been asking me for some time and I’m like literally for a year, he was asking me, I was like ‘All right bro you want it that bad’ so I set him up with my coach.

He further added, “My coach is teaching him like three times a week. This dude looks like he’s been doing it for a f*cking year or two… When he’s there I could almost like f*cking ball up in tears sometimes of happiness. Like bro this is crazy. What was given to me is immediately bestowed on this little f*cker.

In the same interview, Masvidal also detailed how his son wakes up at six in the morning and runs three to four miles before going to school. ‘Street Jesus’ believes that his son has a lot of potential to be a great fighter in the future.
