The Mountain Breaks-Down the Sparring Footage

The video clip was being played, and meanwhile, the interviewer mockingly said, “he’s a little bit smaller than you.” Bjornsson replied, “At this moment, I knew I could take him down. But I didn’t wanna break him.”

Intrigued by the response, the interviewer asked, “Could you break him?”

I could. Yeah, he felt very light and there as well (referring to the footage) I had a few times but I just…I just didn’t wanna break him.” He complimented him on being fast. He said, “he’s quick, and he was very slippery as well, so it was hard to get a grip on him, but there were at least two moments I think I could have just smashed him.”

The interviewer enquired whether McGregor’s jab was hurting him. To which he responded, “not too bad, you know. There’s a huge size difference always between me and him. But I’m not used to getting punched obviously, I’m no fighter, so my technique is just like… I’m wearing jeans and some shoes. I just took my shirt off, and we were just joking”

The Mountain wasn’t taking McGregor seriously

The multiple-time strongman said that McGregor was just enjoying himself finding such a big wood to punch in front of him (referring to himself). He further clarified that he wasn’t ready for that sparring session, and jokingly said that he wasn’t gonna run after McGregor, who just moving around the mats.

The interviewers also believed that McGregor was taking the training seriously. They said, “it seemed like he was taking that pretty seriously. Like afterward when you extend the hand, he’s like it’s over now whereas before that there’s was still game face on for Conor McGregor”

Bjornsson replied to this and said, “ I mean bring me shorts and put us in a cage and you know I’ll fight you again.”
With piquing interest, the interviewer asked the Icelandic, that how long will it take for him to win? To which he said, “If I could grapple him. 10 seconds.” He also claimed that it would take five Conor McGregor’s to beat him.
