Joe Rogan, the UFC color commentator, and famous podcast host, talked about his life prior to stand-up comedy, UFC, and JRE in one episode of his podcast.

The 54-year-old Rogan is one of the most fascinating people in the fight industry. It is because of his experience in various fields of life. He is currently one of the most prominent names in the MMA because of his voice.
Rogan also tops the podcast genre with his widely heard podcast show ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ on Spotify. Besides this, the UFC color commentator is also a successful stand-up comedian and does occasional gigs.
However, before all the fame, Rogan has worked odd jobs, including construction work to make ends meet. In one of his old episodes, Rogan even revealed that he was a taekwondo teacher at Boston University.
“When I was 21, I quit my job teaching. I was teaching at Boston University. I was teaching Taekwondo there.” Rogan said.

“I knew I couldn’t do it right. And also being in stand-up comedy. I knew I couldn’t do both of those things. From 15 until I was, you know, 21ish, 22, those years were spent constantly obsessed with mixed martial arts.” Rogan concluded.
Has Joe Rogan pursued MMA professionally
In his not news that the 54-year-old Rogan is obsessed with mixed martial arts. He has trained in MMA his whole life and even wanted to pursue it as a professional career.

The UFC color commentator had a fair share of fights during his earlier years. Rogan is a black belt in Brazilian ju-jitsu, Taekwondo, and Karate. He has even competed in the US Open grand championship tournament.
Moreover, Rogan was a full-contact champion for four consecutive years in Massachusetts. He also holds an amateur kickboxing record of 2-1 under his name. However, that was it for the future UFC celebrity.

As Rogan wasn’t able to pursue MMA any further because of the injuries he sustained during his brief career. Nevertheless, Rogan made a name in one of the biggest MMA ventures in the world UFC with his voice.
