Khamzat Chimaev was recently on The Hustle MMA Podcast and explained the reason behind not wanting to be a part of Tyson’s podcast. He said (h/t Daily Star), “Ali [his agent] said Mike Tyson wants something, but I didn’t go. I didn’t have much desire to do that. As a fighter, an athlete, I really like him.”

“But I don’t like what all happened with him- the violence, the pills, the marijuana, then Muslims, it’s strange.”

Chimaev continued, “He went through a lot of things and because of this, he broke down, did a lot of bad things. And no one knows what will happen to me. It can happen to anyone.”

The Swedish fighter further clarified that he does not judge Tyson, but just did not want to be a part of his podcast. It seems that Chimaev was put off by Mike Tyson’s controversial past. Fans would have surely loved to see Chimaev in a conversation with Tyson. Having both of them share the same space would be a delight for combat sports fans.
