UFC President Dana White opened up about his childhood during an interview with Graham Bensinger. During the interview, White goes on to talk about his experiences growing up in South Boston. He brings up how he and his sister coped with their alcoholic father. White was also asked about a rumor regarding him being kicked out of high school.

Dana clears the air regarding the matter and says that while he was kicked out of school, it was not for the reason that many believe. “I didn’t hit the nun with my shoe,” said White, talking about the rumor going around as to why he was expelled.

Dana tells Bensinger the truth about what happened with the Nun and his shoe. “It’s actually a stupid story, Lorenzo thinks that’s a great story”

White says that his school was in a rather old building, and when the weather got nice, they would often leave the big metal doors open. Dana calls himself a “punk kid” and admits to the fact that he kicked the door shut on his way to the bathroom. He says that because of the loud noise, one of his Nun teachers did not want to teach her class.

Dana says that one of his friends convinced him to kick the door shut every day.

“You got to kick that door shut again every day, she doesn’t teach class, she goes crazy.”

“So every day for a long time, I’m going to the bathroom, I’m booting this door shut every day.”

White eventually talks about how one day, his Top-Sider shoe flew off, when he kicked the door and the Nun got a hold of it. White says that he was then caught, and kicked out of school because of that.

“I got kicked out of school for that if you can believe that.”
