Conor McGregor’s career has been in the doldrums recently as the Nikita Hand civil case is slowly assassinating his character worldwide. The court ruled the civil case in favor of the plaintiff, Nikita Hand, and ordered the former dual-weight champion of the world to pay a massive sum of more than a quarter million dollars in damages for an incident stemming from 2018. The fighter has already been called out by fellow UFC stars such as Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, and it appears that even Tom Aspinall has come forward to share his honest thoughts on McGregor and his case.

While having a candid conversation with British TV personality Piers Morgon in his show, the host asked the UFC interim heavyweight champion about his thoughts on Conor McGregor, to which Aspinall stated that he has never actually met him and it would be wrong for him to comment on him, “I don’t know Conor McGregor I’ve never met him, um I don’t know why he chooses to do that, no idea.” Following Aspinall’s answer, Morgan asked the UFC champ whether he considers him to be a fan of McGregor, to which the Britisher stated, “Yeah, of course. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, absolutely. The stuff that he’s done on his come-up in the sport was fantastic.”

It seems that Morgan was not entirely satisfied with the response, as he reminded Tom Aspinall of Conor McGregor’s X post from 2023. In the post, McGregor called out Aspinall, referring to the interim king as a ‘mash potato head’ after the Brit claimed he was done with the McGregor hype train. The interim heavyweight champion gave a pretty diplomatic answer to the question as he stated, “I don’t know why he’s so offended.”

In the end, Piers Morgan asked Tom Aspinall about his comments on the civil assault case in Conor McGregor, to which Aspinall stated, “I actually don’t know the ins and outs of it, but if he is guilty, I obviously don’t agree with that, obviously.”  Well, unlike the others, Aspinall has a pretty diplomatic answer to Conor McGregor’s case. In the same vein, another former UFC fighter has some advice for the falling UFC star.

Chael Sonnen believes that Dana White might help Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor‘s civil assault case has put a question mark on his UFC return, however, that doesn’t mean that the promotion is not trying to clinch the former dual-weight champion for fighting under the promotion. Former light-heavyweight title contender and UFC HoFer, Chael Sonnen in his latest statement has come forward to lay bare his thoughts on the Irishman’s return to the MMA world.

“Conor McGregor fights again or Conor doesn’t fight again, and you probably go 70:30 or 60:40. Who are you going to put him with? Michael Chandler was a perfect opponent. Chandler still works. Let’s say you remove Chandler—who do you put him with? Masvidal versus Conor? You’d really like to see that, I get it, but you’re not going to. Nate Diaz versus Conor? You’d have a real box office there,” said Chael Sonnen.

He further added, “What do we think Dana is going to do? Dana doesn’t play checkers; he plays chess. He’s several steps ahead, and if your match doesn’t have meaning for the future—a potential to take you somewhere else—White will not book that match.” Well, the UFC CEO has asserted that McGregor would be returning next year but we will have to just wait and watch. Do you think Conor McGregor’s return might have a positive impact on his career trajectory? Let us know in the comments down below.
