UFC President Dana White recently confirmed that Khabib Nurmagomedov is officially retired as ‘The Eagle’ announced his decision back in October after defending his title against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 successfully.
In a recent interview, Nurmagomedov explained his decision to officially retire from the UFC. ‘The Eagle’ believes he has done everything and achieved all that there is to achieve in the UFC and in the sport.
He arrived at UFC’s door with a record of 16-0 and managed to add 13 more wins during his time under their banner. He won the biggest fight in UFC history against Conor McGregor.

Speaking to Megan Olivi, ‘The Eagle’ said, “I become World Champion Combat Sambo I become 2-time World Champion Combat Sambo then I have 16 -0 outside the UFC.
“Then UFC sign me, and I have 13 wins streak become World Champion, like everything, I’m very happy about all my journey, you know. And right now I feel I don’t have nothing to prove, like to show people who I am like, I do everything in this sport.”
It’s true that his achievements inside the octagon remain unparalleled. But it’s tough for the fans to see the Russian legend walk away from the sport as he is only 32.
Many believe he was just starting to enter his prime as a fighter. Which explains why the fans have been longing to watch him make his way back to the octagon after he defended his title against Justin Gaethje and hung his gloves up.
What was going on between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Kevin Holland last night?
The Former UFC Lightweight Champion was in attendance for the UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Holland card. The Dagestani star also streamed the main event between Kevin Holland and Derek Brunson on social media. However, Holland became somewhat obsessed with the Dagestani phenom’s presence during the fight.

It would have been better for Holland had he concentrated on the fight more as he dropped a unanimous decision to his rival. Nevertheless, it was yet another night in the retired life of ‘The Eagle‘.
