The aftermath of TUF S31 has set fans abuzz with rumors and speculations. Although Dana White and Co. have, on multiple occasions, tried to clear the air around Conor McGregor’s comeback, all such efforts have either backfired or failed to deliver on the promise. Notably, the Irishman allegedly took matters into his own hands recently.
He posted a snap of a UFC Fight Pass card – which set the MMA community ablaze. Why, you ask? It’s because this picture displayed a matchup between ‘Notorious’ and his TUF rival coach Michael Chandler, set for UFC 296, in December. But how much of this is true? Was this just a publicity stunt by the Irishman? Dana White has some strong words for these questions, and he has recently cleared his stance on the matter. Let’s hear it from the UFC head honcho himself.

At last night’s Contender Series presser, Dana White took to the podium to clear the air around some of the buzzing developments in the promotion. Of course, the elephant in the room was McGregor’s tweet and the supposed fight card graphic. When an interviewer probed White about the legitimacy of McGregor’s claims, the UFC head honcho did not mince words.
Responding to the questions, White’s tone was both candid and dismissive. He stated, “I don’t know how that got out or whatever! It wasn’t from Fight Pass.” Moreover, he also made it clear that the graphic was not from the official Fight Pass platform.
The UFC top gun further added, “My team was telling me it was an AI. It wasn’t real. I mean, obviously, if that was the case – you would’ve heard it from us first. You would’ve gotten a report from me on Instagram.”
White’s team informed him that the graphic was likely generated by artificial intelligence, indicating that it held no truth. He emphasized that if there were any credible announcements, they would come directly from him via official channels, not through social media leaks. So, it can be easily concluded that the UFC head honcho is having none of these stunts, and still wants to keep McGregor’s comeback as a buzz generator for months to come.
Is ‘Notorious’ coming back in December? Dana White gives an intriguing answer
But wait – that’s not all! The interviewer also delved into the ongoing speculation about the Irishman’s potential return in December. The reporter asked, “Is he[Conor] in the mix for December?… Is he even in the discussion for December?”
White’s response maintained his straightforward approach, revealing that he had no insight into McGregor’s current status or potential involvement in the December event. The UFC President declared, “I have no clue. We’ll see how this plays out…”

What’s more – he also revealed that the UFC was currently focused on planning fights well into the future, even extending into March of the following year. As for McGregor’s role in the mix, White maintained that fans would be informed when the time was right and when concrete plans were in place.
Concluding his statements, Dana White remarked, “The last two days – yesterday and today – we have put together fights all the way into March of next year… When I’m ready, I’ll let you guys know.”
