Although many in the MMA space have tried their hands in the promotional business, only a few have found success in the fighting world. One of them is ONE Championship CEO, Chatri Sityodtong.

While Sityodtong is in the same position as that of Dana White, he surely isn’t on the same page with the UFC President. Recently, the Singapore-based promotion’s founder registered his dislike of White‘s work ethic and also gave a subtle reminder that he doesn’t share a connection with the sport he promotes.

“I think he’s an outstanding businessman,” Sityodtong said to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. “I don’t necessarily agree with the way he does things. But, I mean he’s built UFC into a phenomenal company. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts. But I don’t think he knows anything about martial arts. I think he’s, you know, I don’t think he knows anything about fighting. I think he’s a fan. So, I have differences.”

“Like, I just, you know, I come from the martial arts community. I come from the martial arts background. And how I treat my athletes, they are my peers. I come from the community. It’s very, very different.”

ONE Championship teases a Chatri Sityodtong vs. Dana White showdown

Recently, the marketing team at ONE Championship decided to showcase their CEO’s Mixed Martial Arts heritage. They shared a clip of him sparring with an athlete as he donned a pair of boxing gloves.

However, the highlight of the post wasn’t the impressive athleticism or the amazement at the CEO himself sparring, but the caption down below it. ONE captioned the post, “Who wants to see Chatri vs. Dana?”
