He bought the Ultimate Fighting Championship back in 2001, along with the Fertitta brothers. They bought the promotion for $2 million and invested $44 million more. They struggled to break even on their investments for a long time, but after White’s brainchild, The Ultimate Fighter, was introduced, the luck changed. UFC soon became the premium MMA organization and in 2016, Zuffa, the parent company of UFC, was sold to WME-IMG for $4.02 billion.

After the takeover, they announced White will continue his role as the president. White has been with the promotion for over 20 years now, and it’s not something he intends to stop doing.

UFC is one of the biggest MMA promotions in the world right now, and in 2021 they put together some of the biggest events in the promotion’s history.
