Rafael dos Anjos is ready to make a comeback next year in January. The former UFC Champion hasn’t entered the octagon for almost a year. His last fight was against Paul Felder back in November 2020, where he won by a split decision.

RDA is recovering from knee surgery and is looking for a worthy opponent for his comeback. Names such as Islam Makhachev, Conor McGregor, and Khabib Nurmagomedov have already been thrown in the mix. Recently, he sat down with Ariel Helwani for an MMA Hour interview. There, he revealed he was interested in fighting Tony Ferguson.

The two lightweights have already fought as the main event for UFC Fight Night 98 in 2016. The bout ended with a unanimous victory for Tony. Ariel asked RDA about the perfect opponent for his next fight. To which the 37-year-old-Brazilian replied, “I see guys like Tony Ferguson have nobody and we have a would-be a good rematch.”

I shouldn’t, I should not take that fight was a very coming of uh title loss and right away jumping in another fight in Mexico city on the altitude wasn’t a good moment. Leaving Kings MMA was a very-very bad moment for me. And also like I would love to run that match again.”
