The Swedish fighter believes that should he get past Vettori this weekend, his next fight has to be a No.1 contender’s fight. He has specific opponents on the mind. Furthermore, Hermansson also expressed his anguish about the originally booked fight against fan-favorite Darren Till getting scrapped.

Talking to Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com, the Swedish fighter said, “I was very disappointed especially with all the work that went into this fight camp. I have been specializing on Darren Till. We just broke the game down into small details and worked so hard to perfect everything. Then he is suddenly out. I lose a great opponent and a big fan-favorite. That sucked, we managed to at least get a fight.”

Following ‘The Gorilla’s’ withdrawal, the UFC replaced with Kevin Holland, who had his own setback and withdrew.

Hermansson, though, will have his hands full against ‘The Italian Dream’ who is not a pushover. ‘The Joker’ will look to claim a win to show the world that he can beat anyone on any day. Subsequently, he will look to move on to bigger fights.

Jack Hermansson is looking for Paulo Costa next

Hermansson said, “It is Robert Whittaker but if Rob isn’t ready, then, Paulo Costa. Those are the only two guys. My next fight should be a contender fight.

Paulo Costa is coming off a loss against Israel Adesanya at UFC 253. “Borrachinha” is currently the number 2 ranked middleweight. He is looking to bounce back from his first professional loss and looking for a top contender as an opponent.

Hermansson certainly fits the bill as he is one of the top contenders in the division with 5 wins in his last 6 fights. A fight with Costa can certainly be a springboard or both the men to get a title shot next.

Nevertheless, he’s got a fight against a tough opponent on his hands first and will look to cross one bridge at a time. Should he get past Vettori, a fight against higher-ranked Costa or Whittaker makes sense.

Who do you think should be ‘The Joker’s’ next talent if he beats Marvin Vettori?
