Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from MMA in 2020 with an incredible record of (29-0). Since then, the fighter has been doing various things, including coaching and opening his very own MMA promotion. Now recently there was speculation that the fighter would get into football and will play for FC Legion Dynamo.

‘The Eagle’ is a big football fan, and many thought the fighter would join Legion Dynamo soon. However, during a recent interview, Nurmagomedov cleared the air about the same. He said, “I have friendly relations with Legion Dynamo. I support the team and come to their matches when I’m in Makhachkala. But I have no plan to step on the field because I fly more than I walk right now.”

“Out of the team, definitely not these three. They’re anchors. I’d never pick them for a football game. I could pick Islam Makhachev.”

‘The Eagle’ cleared the air about the situation and said that he has not signed any contract. And although the fighter remains an ardent follower of the game, he has no solid plans of playing.

He said, “I haven’t signed the contract but I have close relations. I can come in at any time. It all depends on the situation, we’ll see how it goes. They’ll have a cup match soon. I believe they’ll be playing Russia’s Premier League team from UFA. If the Premier League comes maybe, I’ll… but I have to lose a little weight to get into football shape. Maybe 12 pounds”

Will Khabib Nurmagomedov ever return to the Octagon?

Nurmagomedov retired when he was at the top of his career and at a very young age. Therefore, many of his fans believe that the fighter will return to the UFC Octagon again. However, ‘The Eagle’ has time and again said that he will never compete again.

The reason for Nurmagomedov’s retirement was the unfortunate demise of his father. And even though fans want to see the former champion return to action. Nurmagomedov has made it clear he won’t fight again.
