Mario Lopez appeared on Clarkson’s show to discuss a variety of topics, including his turning 50 years old this year. Lopez had previously hosted the Kelly Clarkson Show’ as a guest host. The ‘Popstar: Never Stop Shooting’ actor started training in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in 2017. He was awarded the purple belt in November 2022. Lopez also displayed quality performance at the IBJJF Phoenix Open in 2022.

He got the opportunity to showcase his BBJ skills on Clarkson’s show. The singer and TV host seemed excited at Lopez’s display at that moment like this and said, “I think I’ve had this dream!” Mario Lopez took the opportunity to show Kelly Clarkson a submission move, the rear-naked choke. Both celebrities joked about the BJJ move’s name as sounding “naughty“.

BJJ world champion Gordon Ryan has been an admirer of Mario Lopez’s BJJ journey. He posted the video as his Instagram story and wrote: “Another win for JJ.” Many fans have made some hilarious comments on Instagram after watching Mario Lopez’s Instagram post teaching Clarkson the submission move. He captioned the video: “We had too much of a good time on @KellyClarksonTV & it felt good to be back on today…Thanks for having me!”
