Kennedy took to Instagram and wrote, “The first time I met Rory Mcdonald we were backstage of a @ufc card both coaching and cornering two of our close friends. Unbeknownst to him it was this first interaction that earned him my deepest respect. I have watched him fight for world titles. I have watched him sacrifice his longevity for the sake of his training partners. We have a few shared opponents but one of them is from the fight pictured here. One of the best fights in the history of our sport where he went toe to toe with one of the most violent strikers in the history of MMA. Aside from being one of the most prolific fighters of the past two decades he is also an amazing human. I’m thrilled to see what the next chapter of his life is going to be. He’s going to make this world a better place. Pay attention to what @romac_gorilla is going to do next.”
