On numerous occasions, he has shed light on the distressing elements of his early life and provided valuable insight into the hardships he faced during his formative years. Sean Strickland claims his father was a “monster”

Sean Strickland evidently did not hold back while describing his father’s personality to Joe Rogan. He mentioned that his father would always be in his memories for all the terrible things he had done to him. Strickland said, “I’ll never forget my dad, my f***ing dad, dude… The worst thing about my dad, dude, is like when I was a kid, he was like the monster, dude.”

The UFC middleweight champion further went on to talk about an instance when his brother thought of inflicting harm on his father. Fortunately, Strickland’s brother did not go through with his intentions. “I remember this one time, dude. My brother… we’re talking elementary school, strapped a knife to his leg to go stab him [his father]. And then he b*tched out the last second,” ‘Tarzan’ added. If this was not enough, Sean Strickland also revealed that he once hit his father as well. Let’s see how that went down.

The ever-vocal Sean Strickland did not shy away from revealing that he also had an altercation with his father. Years of pent-up frustrations led him to hit his father and break his nose. Strickland further stated, The first time I hit my dad, I was like 17. I head-butted [him] and broke his nose and he just fell down crying and I was like so disappointed.”

Not only that, but Sean Strickland also lived in fear for the well-being of his mother. Just to make sure that his father didn’t harm her, he used to sleep in her bed often. “I used to sleep in my mom’s bed a lot because I thought… my dad was gonna f***ing kill my mom,” the middleweight champion added.
