With UFC 269 concluded, UFC has wrapped up its last PPV event for the year. MMA fans got to see many shocking moments during the event. One of them was Amanda Nunes, losing the bantamweight championship to Julianna Pena. However, one fighter continued his winning streak this time as well, and that was Sean O’Malley.

Not long after having his hand raised in the Octagon, the young prospect got a challenge, arguably, from a fighter stronger than anyone he has ever faced. Bantamweight fighter Merab Dvalishvili respectfully called out ‘Sugar’ right after congratulating him via a tweet.

The Tweet read, “Congratulations @SugaSeanMMA I hope you are going to fight me next #ufcvegas269”

‘The Machine’ is currently #6 on the bantamweight charts. The Georgia-born Mixed Martial Artist made his debut at UFC Fight Night: December 9th, 2017 against Frankie Saenz. He lost the bout via split decision. He also lost his second fight in the UFC. Notably, these were the only losses the 30-year-old has suffered since. Now, the fighter has amassed himself a seven-fight win streak.

If materialized, the bout between Dvalishvili (14-4) and O’Malley will really pique the interest of MMA fans as it’ll be the first instance where ‘Sugar’ takes on a ranked fighter from his division. Not only that, but it goes on to show how popular Sean O’Malley is in the MMA world. As the norm in the UFC is to call out fighters who are ranked higher.

Sean O’Malley takes out Raulian Paiva in the first round

Sean O’Malley won everyone’s heart as the fighter won his third straight fight in the Octagon. ‘Sugar’ locked horns with the Brazilian Raulian Paiva in his last fight of the year. The Brazilian started the fight brilliantly as he protected himself from his taller opponent. But things took a turn when O’Malley landed a kick near Paiva’s groin.

The round had to be halted for a few seconds, but Paiva braved up and continued the bout with the same valor. Sadly for Paiva, it was only moments from disaster, as ‘Sugar’ landed a combination of punches to end the match in the first round itself. Sean O’Malley celebrated his win with his signature Basketball Dunk celebration.
