And Adesanya, who cannot stand Strickland, either, had promised to break the American’s jaw if the American trash-talked him during their fights. But, in one of the best cases of trash talk gone right, not only was Strickland able to beat the Kiwi in a shock upset, but also sledged him during the fight.

Sean Strickland reveals what he said to Israel Adesanya during their fight

In the post-fight press conference, a reporter asked Sean Strickland what he said to Adesanya at the end of their fight. Strickland revealed he called him a “Chinaman”, which is one of his favorite insults to throw at the former middleweight champion. He said that while he did not want to make fun of ‘Izzy’ as the Kiwi is a legend, him coming out in the Chinese flag puzzled Sean and made him call Adesanya out.

“I just, I think I just called him a Chinaman. I said ‘come on Chinaman let’s fight’. You know that’s what he is, right? The Chinaman and here’s the thing guys, Izzy’s a f**ing legend and I don’t like to make fun of him because he is a f**ing legend. But I mean he f***ing came out, with, like the Chinese colors, dude. The f**ing Chinese colors, man, like what the f*** are you thinking? What is the logic coming out like to f**ing, the CCP Communist f***ing Party, bro,” he said.
