Oliveira will embark on a journey to Abu Dhabi to face Islam Makhachev on October 11, but before that, he has set foot at Viracopos Hippodrome to witness Brazil’s most important harness races of the season.

In a recent YouTube production by MMAfightingonSBN, the 32-year-old former lightweight champion passionately unveiled his profound love for horses. With his successful fighting career and lucrative sponsorships, he now has the means to invest a significant amount of money in equestrian equipment and gear for his passion for harness racing. While eloquently narrating this burgeoning passion, He explains that his love for horse racing may actually be stronger than his love for MMA.

In the video, he stated “I’ve always loved horses but not harness racing horses. Gia [Santos] once told me, I’ll take you to the racetrack so you see what’s a real horse, real passion.” He further added, “It’s a horse that has a gigantic heart and never gives up. I came and called my father right away and said we’re on foot meaning we don’t have a good horse.” Oliveira, sitting in the back of his truck with two of his most expensive horses, waiting for race time stated “I love harness racing.”
