The UFC bantamweight division currently comprises some of the best fighters in the MMA world. Marlon Vera is one of them. ‘Chito’ on his quest to gain the bantamweight gold strap, has already defeated a former champion and a top contender in his previous two fights.

Now, the Ecuadorian native has his eyes set on the bigger price. ‘Chito’ is looking for a fight with the number one bantamweight contender Petr Yan and his coach Jason Parillo believes Yan is the right opponent for Vera.

“I love any fight for Chito (Vera) in the top five. I mean, Chito is definitely coming in his own right now. He made a great statement with Rob Font in his last fight.” Parillo told The Schmo.

Hence, he called out the former champion Petr Yan. ‘No Mercy’ recently failed to regain his bantamweight title against the current champion Aljamain Sterling in April 2022. In order to map his way back to the title, Yan is willing to fight Vera.

However, he has issues with the timing of the bout. “If you want to fight the best you can wait till September/October, but if you want to just to be ufc’s b***h and fill out the spot in August, you can f**k off and don’t waste my time,” Yan said on Twitter.

‘Chito’ replied by taking a dig at the Russian fighter. He said, “Wait? F**k u I ain’t waiting for no one, u call me out, UFC offer something u the b***h. Also, learn English is pathetic being a man and having your manager translating for u. Dork.”

Both the fighters are desperately looking to lay their hands on the title. Hence, this fight makes a lot of sense. Also, Yan and Vera are among the top-5 of the division who never fought before. Hence, a clash between them will give a clear picture of the next viable prospect for the title.
