10 days ago, ‘The Highlight’ sat with Cageside Press. During the interview, Gaethje mentioned his change in attitude over the years. The 34-year-old also added that he will be careful not to repeat his past mistakes. He said, “I certainly have grown. Where am I five years older so I was probably 29 years old? Yeah, I mean a lot of big fights in between that day and today and the day that I’ll fight him.”

He further added, “I am human and am susceptible to make mistakes. I think I made a huge mistake in Oliveira fight, I became super emotional and I think that’s one thing that I will not allow to happen this fight and I think it’s gonna be somewhat of a chess match ultimately but with both of us trying to create damage at all times. I mean, five rounds, you know we gotta fight. Obviously, you gotta fight smart.

Gaethje agreed that he has made a lot of mistakes in his past fights. However, for his upcoming fight against ‘The Diamond’, he will be smarter than ever.
