‘I Made About $10 Million’ – Georges St-Pierre Reveals His Earnings From the Michael Bisping Fight

Georges St-Pierre is often considered one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time. ‘Rush’ is a former two-division champion and won titles in welterweight and middleweight champion. The former champion had a distinguished career and ultimately even ended it own his own terms.
Recently there has been much talk about the amount of money UFC fighters earn. Many fighters have shared their views on the same. Now in a recent piece in Wealthsimple Magazine GSP has shared many aspects of his storied career, including the money he earned for his comeback fight against Michael Bisping.
“I was happy to come back in 2016. But I didn’t want to come back to fight for the same title. I wanted to make history and do something different. So, I challenged Michael Bisping, the champion in a heavier weight class. I came back mostly for my own sense of accomplishment, but of course, the money was there.”

“There’s a lot of people buried in the desert for much less than what I made for that fight, my friend. For the fight with Michael Bisping, with the pay-per-views, the sponsorship and all that, I made about $10 million. Then in 2019, I got out. I’m very lucky and very privileged that I finished on top. The reality is most fighters finish broke and broken. They hang there for too long; they get brain damage; and they go broke.”

Many retired UFC and boxing legends have been looking to make comebacks in recent times. Therefore, many have speculated that even GSP would look to come back for one more fight. And in recent times there has been much talk of GSP returning to action, it was speculated that ‘Rush’ could face Oscar De La Hoya in a comeback fight.

However, any fight has not been made official yet. While there has been no official announcement of GSP facing anyone in the recent future, GSP has expressed his desire to return to action on multiple occasions.
