“I May Die Here” – PowerSlap Fighter Jewell Scott Confirms Dana White’s New Venture Is Indeed Very Brutal, but ‘Special Techniques’ Are the Only Relief

UFC president Dana White has heard all the chatters regarding his new promotion, PowerSlap, for being too violent. Many people even claim that slap-fighting is not a real sport. Even boxing star Ryan Garcia took to social media and questioned the UFC president’s new endeavor. But people love to see fights and that sells. And has this sentiment propelled White to start a slap-fighting promotion?
The ‘Road to the Title’ show is already two episodes down as fans got to see brutal blows after brutal blows. They got a taste of what they can expect from the show in the future.
PowerSlap President Drank Lamicella also mentioned drug testing in this sport. He stated that the promotion is following the same procedure as UFC. but one of the competitors in PowerSlap, Jewell Scott, has expressed the dire consequences of getting slapped.

PowerSlap participant admits he “may get killed”
Jewell Scott hails from New Orleans. he had previously competed in other combat sports like bare-knuckle, boxing, and mixed martial arts. However, the 38-year-old changed course to test himself in Dana White’s new promotion. ‘Complex’ recently caught up with Jewell Scott for an interview about his new venture. He said that he understands the fatal consequences surrounding this sport and admits that it could be fatal.

“I’m kind of thinking along the same lines with the thought in the front of my mind that I may get killed here, or I may die here,” said Scott. He added, “I’m willing to do whatever I have to do to not only survive but win and be victorious.”

The interviewer told him about the fact that this sport has no defensive tactic at play and asked him what it takes to get mentally prepared. Jewell Scott revealed that fighters have certain techniques for slap-fight. He said, “You’re not just standing there and getting whacked. We have special techniques that allow us to disperse energy when you hit, and techniques for rolling and turning with slaps and strikes.” He claims that without following the proper techniques, people will get knocked out.
Scott also discussed Ryan Garcia’s claim of slap-fighting is a dangerous sport. He claims that boxing is more dangerous than slap-fighting. The New Orleans Native mentioned that there are very few injuries involving chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) from getting slapped until now. But he claims boxing involves getting a few hundred blows to the head every match, which makes it a much more dangerous ball game. He said, “Multiple people have died in boxing, you see probably 600-700 punches to the head every single fight.”
